Did you know that College of San Mateo’s Veteran Services Program and Student Veterans of America Chapter (SVA) is hosting a statewide Student Veteran Leadership Conference on October 8? Tickets are still on sale at collegeofsanmateo.edu/VetConCA16.

CSM’s Veteran Services Program and SVA Chapter have teamed up to host this amazing and unique event. This conference is a great opportunity for student veterans and their supporting staff to come together.

Big games come and go, but only one will showcase the bravery and perseverance of those who have sacrificed so much for our country. The Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team (WWAFT) plays at College of San Mateo on Super Bowl Saturday, February 6th, matching up veterans that have lost limbs in Afghanistan or Iraq with more than 40 NFL Alumni.

On Saturday, February 6th from noon to 3:00 pm College of San Mateo will open College Heights Stadium to the undefeated Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team (WWAFT) in a moving match against San Francisco’s NFL Alumni.

On Wednesday, Feb. 15, 11 a.m., CSM will celebrate the official opening of the new Veterans Resource and Opportunity Center. The event will begin in the Office of Student Life (Building 17, Room 112) with keynote remarks by a student veteran, college officials and local dignitaries. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception will immediately follow in the new center, located in Building 16, Room 150.
