Riverside City College, in its 99th year of community college football, took advantage of Bulldogs errors on Saturday to win its first California Community College Athletic Association title, 31-14, at Bakersfield College Memorial Stadium.

The state No. 8 ranked Bulldogs (3-1) had a 6-0 turnover advantage in the 31-3 non-league victory over the No. 17 Rams (1-2).

College of San Mateo’s reign atop Northern California community college football has been temporarily sidelined, but the Bulldogs (2-1) are set to rebound against another tough team when they finally return home to host state No. 17 Fresno City College (1-1) Saturday at 1 pm.
