After completing a solid 11-3 non-conference campaign, College of San Mateo’s women’s basketball team will begin Coast North Conference play at district rival Skyline College (10-6) on Friday, Jan. 8, at 5 p.m.

Corryne Millett had her third double-double in as many days as College of San Mateo swept its own Tom Martinez Invitational Women’s Basketball Tournament with a title-clinching 79-69 victory over Contra Costa Sunday.

Freshman center Corryne Millett had 24 points and 13 rebounds as host College of San Mateo held off Solano College, 74-70, Saturday night to advance to Sunday’s 3 p.m. championship game of the Tom Martinez Invitational Women’s Basketball Tournament. The Bulldogs (8-2) will play Contra Costa (9-5). The Comets defeated Shasta, 63-53 in the other semi.

Gabby Jajeh poured in 26 points, including a school record eight three’s, as host College of San Mateo roared past visiting Butte College, 104-78, in an opening round game of the Tom Martinez Women’s Basketball Invitational Friday night. It was the first 100-point game for the Bulldogs in CSM coach Michelle Warner’s 18 years at CSM.

New College of San Mateo kinesiology faculty member Katie Goldhahn will coach the Bulldogs women’s volleyball team, according to Andreas Wolf, dean, kinesiology, athletics, and dance. The team will debut in the fall of 2016.

On Saturday, February 6th from noon to 3:00 pm College of San Mateo will open College Heights Stadium to the undefeated Wounded Warrior Amputee Football Team (WWAFT) in a moving match against San Francisco’s NFL Alumni.

College of San Mateo’s women’s basketball team, off to an impressive 6-2 start, finally returns home this weekend to host the annual Tom Martinez Invitational, Friday through Sunday (Dec. 18-20).
