College of San Mateo is the place to be for perfect pitchers and throwers this season – all champions who will be performing at the College Heights campus this weekend. Two CSM softball pitchers are a combined 35-0 and a baseball pitcher is 7-0. A track and field thrower just won two Coast Conference titles.

On Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2, 2015, College of San Mateo’s (CSM) Ethnic Studies Department is hosting the 6th Annual Asian Pacific American Film Festival. The two-day festival is open to the public and begins at 6:30 pm on May 1 and continues on May 2 with an afternoon matinee at 1pm followed by the evening program at 7 pm.

College of San Mateo’s Melina Rodriguez is the player of the year and Lauren Berriatua the pitcher of the year on the 2015 All-Coast Conference softball team. CSM coach Nicole Borg was voted coach of the year by conference coaches.

Coast Golden Conference baseball champion College of San Mateo has been seeded No. 5 among the 18 teams in the Northern California playoffs, which get underway this week. The Bulldogs (25-11) will host No. 12 Merced (23-13), the Central Valley Conference runner-up, in a best two of three series beginning Friday (May 1) at 2 p.m. and concluding on Saturday.

35-0 and 23-0 are just a few of the superlatives achieved by College of San Mateo’s record setting top-ranked softball team — which defeated visiting Foothill, 20-0, Tuesday. The Bulldogs finished regular season play with a 35-0 record, the best in school history.

34-0 and ONE game away from its first unbeaten regular season: So 35-0 is the target for College of San Mateo’s top-ranked softball team entering Tuesday’s (April 21) finale with visiting Foothill College at 3 p.m.

Sam Hellinger stayed undefeated (6-0) as College of San Mateo scored all the runs it needed in the first inning and the Bulldogs clinched a Coast Golden Gate baseball title tie with a 6-3 victory over visiting Chabot in their regular season home finale Thursday.

Miles Mastrobuoni scored three times, including the eventual winning run in the fifth inning, as Coast Conference baseball leader College of San Mateo defeated host City College of San Francisco, 5-3, in Pacifica on Tuesday.

Several of the USA’s top all-around community college athletes will be competing at College of San Mateo on Tuesday and Wednesday (April 14-15) as the Bulldogs host the Northern California decathlon and heptathlon championships.

Austin Lonestar banged out four of College of San Mateo’s 15 hits and scored the go-ahead run in a 9-2 victory over visiting Mission College Thursday, securing sole possession of first place in the Coast Golden Gate Conference baseball standings.
