Top-ranked College of San Mateo became the state’s first 20-win women’s softball team this season with a 7-6 comeback win over No. 10 San Joaquin Delta College Thursday afternoon.

CSM is the state’s winningest team at 19-1.

The College District Board of Trustees voted unanimously last night not to renew the District’s parcel tax. Board President Karen Schwarz expressed the Board’s deep appreciation to San Mateo County voters who agreed four years ago to tax themselves to help the District through a fiscal crisis brought on by years of state budget reductions.

First win in conference gives Bulldogs an overall record of 13-1

College of San Mateo and Sierra College switched spots in the North, while the Bulldogs moved up two spots to #2 in the State, and the Wolverines stayed at #3 in the State. There are a total of six new teams in State Poll #2, including Santa Ana.

All three Colleges in the San Mateo County Community College District (Cañada College, College of San Mateo and Skyline College) were notified Friday (February 7) that their accreditation has been fully reaffirmed by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC).

Brooke Ramsey completed an amazing first week playing softball for College of San Mateo, slugging four home runs, batting in 17 runs, and totaling 26 bases to lead the state in all three categories.

Brooke Ramsey hit a pair of home runs and had six runs batted in as state fourth-ranked College of San Mateo won its home softball opener, 9-0, over No. 7 Shasta College Friday afternoon. The game was halted after five innings because of the run margin.
