College of San Mateo’s streaking women’s softball team faces its third 1st-place challenge of the week on Saturday (March 31) when the Bulldogs take their 13-game winning streak to old nemesis and perennial champion Ohlone College in Fremont for a 12 noon game.

CSM (28-3 overall) is 8-1 in Coast North play, a half game ahead of idle Ohlone (19-9, 7-1) – who hosts CSM on Saturday at noon. The Bulldogs first, however, must entertain current Coast South leader Monterey Peninsula (20-9, 6-2) on Thursday at 3 p.m. That promises to be a match-up of the state two winningest pitchers. Monterey gave Ohlone its only Coast loss, 3-2, last week.

College of San Mateo got a complete game shutout from Daniel Chavez to take a 1-0 victory over second place West Valley and gain a full 3-game lead over the host Vikings in the Golden Gate Conference baseball race.

Evan McDaniel had the longest California Community College men’s shot put of the season and Nikki Uikilifi won three women’s throwing events for host College of San Mateo at Monday’s Maurice Compton Invitational track and field meet.

Schedule updates and results for CSM Baseball, Swimming, and Track & Field.

Baseball game and Track events rescheduled for Monday, March 26.

College of San Mateo ran its women’s softball winning streak to 11 games with an 8-1 triumph at Cabrillo College and moved into a first place tie in the Coast North Conference.

CSM continues to lead the Coast’s Golden Gate Conference with a 6-1 record (13-7 overall) after sweeping both San Mateo County rivals.

College of San Mateo ran its women’s softball winning streak to ten games with a 9-1 victory at Gavilan College Wednesday. The game was called after five innings, due to the score margin.

Golden Gate leader CSM (12-7, 5-1) started the Coast crossover game with four hits to score three runs – all that were needed
