College of San Mateo has been seeded No. 10 in Northern California and will open California Community College Women’s Basketball regional play at No. 7 College of the Siskiyous (22-3) in Weed on Friday at 7 p.m.

On Wednesday, Feb. 15, 11 a.m., CSM will celebrate the official opening of the new Veterans Resource and Opportunity Center. The event will begin in the Office of Student Life (Building 17, Room 112) with keynote remarks by a student veteran, college officials and local dignitaries. A ribbon-cutting ceremony and reception will immediately follow in the new center, located in Building 16, Room 150.

College of San Mateo extended its Northern California leading women’s softball win streak to nine games, defeating visiting Shasta College of Redding, 9-1, Sunday afternoon. The contest was called in the bottom of the fifth inning when San Mateo reached the 8-run-after-5 innings margin.

College of San Mateo’ undefeated women’s softball team ran its season-opening win streak to a Northern California pacesetting eight games with victories over visiting Gavilan and Shasta on Saturday.
