Two former quarterbacks who learned their trade on the College of San Mateo football field are slated to play important roles in this year’s Super Bowl – for the same team.

College of San Mateo started the second half of Coast North women’s basketball play with a convincing 77-61 comeback victory over formerly state top-ranked City College of San Francisco Friday night. The Bulldogs (15-8 overall) lead the Coast North at 5-1 by a half game over Foothill (22-3, 4-1) – which visits CSM next Friday.

The California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) is proud to announce six former California Community College student-athletes competing in Super Bowl XLVI between the New York Giants and New England Patriots.

College of San Mateo continues to lead the Coast North women’s basketball race after defeating San Mateo County rival Skyline College, 63-55, Friday night. CSM finished the first half of conference play tied at the top with a 4-1 record.

On Wednesday, February 15 at 11 am, CSM will celebrate the official opening of the new Veterans Resource and Opportunity Center. The event will begin in the Office of Student Life (Building 17, Room 112) with keynote remarks by a student veteran, college officials and local dignitaries.

College of San Mateo’s late rally fell a point short as the Bulldogs closed out non-conference women’s basketball play with a 75-74 loss to Irvine Valley College in the third place game at Foothill’s Pepsi Holiday Classic Friday.
