College of San Mateo rolled up the highest point total in the college’s 90-year football history Saturday, defeating visiting West Valley College, 83-0.

New Bay Area Radio Hall of Fame selection Hal Ramey of KCBS will serve as Master of Ceremonies for College of San Mateo’s first Athletics Hall of Fame enshrinement dinner on Friday, Sept. 23.

On September 23, at 4pm, College of San Mateo will honor nine decades of its athletic legacy when it dedicates the Athletic Hall of Fame Plaza during a ribbon cutting ceremony. Sixteen former athletes and coaches will be inducted in the inaugural class of inductees and their names will be enshrined on granite and bronze pillars permanently on display in the Plaza.

Tim Maxwell, associate professor of English at College of San Mateo, has been awarded a Human Rights Education Fellowship for 2011-12 by the Division of International Comparative and Area Studies (ICA) at Stanford University and the Stanford Program on International and Cross-Cultural Education (SPICE).

Reservations for the 6 p.m. dinner at the new CSM College Center are still available for $70 (or $500 for a table of eight) through Sept. 9. All attendees will also receive a ticket for the Saturday, Sept. 24, Hall of Fame football game against West Valley College at College Heights Stadium at 1 p.m. Inductees will be honored and introduced at halftime of the football game.
