On Saturday, May 1, from 12 – 3 pm, the Mary Meta Lazarus Child Development Center at College of San Mateo will present a Spring Benefit Concert featuring the Reggae sounds of the Bay Area band, “Native Elements,” on the CSM Plaza next to the Health and Wellness Building.

Lauren Cole pitched a 10-0 shutout softball victory for College of San Mateo over visiting Monterey Peninsula College in a Coast Conference crossover game Tuesday. Santa Clara High grad Cole improved her Coast North-leading won-loss record to 14-2. It was her sixth consecutive victory.

The swimming pools at College of San Mateo’s new aquatics and fitness center are filled with water and ready for instruction use and competition.

On Wednesday, March 24, College of San Mateo will officially introduce its new Health and Wellness Building to the community with a Ribbon Cutting and Open House. Beginning at 3:30pm, the event will take place at the Plaza entrance to the new building. The celebration will begin with a brief program followed by a self guided tour of the building and refreshments.

College of San Mateo is ranked No 3 in Northern California in the first regular season poll of the California Community College Baseball Coaches Association.

Justin Maffei of College of San Mateo finished the first month of 2010 baseball play as the overall statewide leader in batting for all 88 California Community College Athletic Association teams.

College of San Mateo’s Ethnic Studies Department will present an Asian Pacific American Film Festival in the college’s Theatre. The matinee program will start at 1pm, while the evening program will start at 7pm.
